Roland Burke

A small tribute to Roland Burke - once described as “living on the edge of a nanosecond”.

He was an brief but brilliant radio broadcaster, a hugely talented studio engineer, an amateur astronomer, a computer buff, a translator who rarely delivered on time, a fine pianist, a man incapable of catching a bus and great craíc on a Saturday night (or any other night you come to mention). None of these, however, sum up Roland - a man of many words, outlandish vocabulary and labyrinthine syntax. He was funny, warm, generous and loyal and inspired great loyalty in his friends, his family and his colleagues.

These pages are a poor reminder of a great friend and much loved son, brother, partner and friend from those of us who miss him.
